Device

The handheld probe is: 15.6cm tall x 6 cm wide and 2 cm thick

The ultrasound probe is about 260g

The device will operate on a full charge for between 3 & 5 hours. Charging back to full takes about 2 hours

The device is fitted with a non-removal 2800 mAh battery

The device can be charged on any Wireless charging pad with a power of at least 10W. The charging pad rating will determine the rate at which the device will charge.

Only wireless charing is available. This keeps the device sealed and allows it to be cleaned easily. We recommend keeping a wireless charging powerbank with the ultrasound probe, to top it up.

The app is available on the Apple App Store / Google Play Store / Mac OSX and Windows

Connection

No. The probe creates it's own wifi hotspot for communication with your phone or tablet. There is no reliance on the hospital or clinic WiFi to use the device.

The device works by communication over WiFi only. Bluetooth would not be able to support the amount of data that needs to be transferred and so is not available.

Each probe has the WiFi password set to the serial number of the device. The serial number can be found on the back of the device.

Make sure you enter it carefully and use LOWERCASE, even if the serial number is printed in uppercase on the device.

Care / Cleaning

It is important that you keep the device clean and do so between each patient contact.

  1. Wipe the probe using a soft clean cloth which has been dampened in Isopropyl alcohol (or your local clinic cleaning agent)
  2. Use a dry clean cloth / tissue to wipe the probe dry
  3. Visually inspect the probe to make sure it is clean, otherwise repeat the steps

The overall probe are rated as IPX1. This means there is no harm from vertically falling water droplets but the whole device can not be submerged.

The acoustic head is rated as IPX7. This means that the head can be submerged in water up to 1 meter (3.3 feet) for up to 30 minutes without being damaged. This rating is suitable for splashes, rain, snow, and showering.

The probe can not be immersed in any conductive liquid and ideally should not be immersed. Always visually inspect for cracks or damage before cleaning. Liquid ingress will cause damage that may be permanent and not covered by the warranty.

Troubleshooting Guides

We have found that if the probe has been left on for a while without connecting to a device then the WiFi connection fails.

If you can't connect;

  • Turn the probe off
  • Leave the probe of for at least 30 seconds
  • Turn the probe back on
  • Try to connect to the probe WiFi again

On occasion this might need to be repeated until a connection is established

There is a known bug at the moment that means annotations on iPad do not work properly.
